Sylvanian Families Betty's Toy Box

Hi! We will be looking at the second of the three cottage-type toy shops in the Sylvanian Families/Calico Critters line; Betty's Toy Box.

It was first released in the U.K. in January 2011. And unlike Hazelwood's Toy Shop, it only came with one figure; Betty Hazelwood.

It was supposedly only available for sale at Tesco.

Sylvanian Families Betty's Toy Box contents
I did get this building brand new so I had all the correct bits and pieces. The display shelf is red instead of blue!

I forgot to take a reference picture of the contents--but these are all that's in there. The contents are very similar to the original release.

Sylvanian Families Betty Hazelwood front
Betty Hazelwood dons the same dress she does in Hazelwood's Toy Shop.

I love the detail of the ribbon above her tail.

The building's color scheme is different form the first one. Instead of blue on white, this building dons cream-colored walls and green windows.

Sylvanian Families Betty's Toy Box side
On one side of the building, there's a window that can be opened or closed.

I tried to arrange all  the contents to reflect the promo image exactly.
I can't really choose which one is my favorite between the two releases. It's a bid sad that Oliver Bearbury isn't included in the box, but the two releases are generally similar except for a few minor changes.

I guess that's it for now. The last version of this toy shop I'll be opening is from the Calico Critter's line. Very exciting! See you again soon!(*^^*)

Jona

  2. This version is the one I´ve seen more often.I agree with you. It´s hard to choose between the two releases but I think I prefer the color scheme of this version. I love the last picture. You set up your shop exactly as the promo image of the box.
