My Sylvanian Kitchen

I think eventually, I'll have to rename my figures and create a backstory for a town and all that... But for now, I want to share with you a newly opened restaurant in my village! ^^

The Sylvanian Kitchen set is actually a long-retired item that was exclusively released in Japan... I obtained it yesterday along with another retired figure, Spencer Maces, a cute little mouse! Yes, I've gone to these waters... I'm doing the I-want-retired-items thing. Someone help me.; 3 ;

My beautiful restaurant!

Of course, I'm still doing a lot of customizing and DIYs. In this picture, you can see a couple of flower beds and some decorative flower arrangements.

Cute Spencer! He is now the proud owner of this little shop.

Seen in the picture above, I have some orange roses and very poorly done wine bottles. I don't have an oven to bake clay with so I can't do polymer clay crafts. T_T

The stove on the side is a piece from a retired kitchen set. The oven that comes with the restaurant is missing. ;( I made the goblet holder just over the stove and the pasta bottles.

The first customers are no other than my lovely Buckley Red Deer couple. Look at them, aren't they adorable? ; 3 ;

I also opted to cover the tables with this cute fabric I found! I think it gave the restaurant a more homey atmosphere. Hehe.

I know I'm indulging quite a bit with this new hobby... but I can't help it. TT_TT Plus, I would really be busier from next month as I'm going to start a new job and that means I would be spending less time doing all these crafting! But I'm glad. It's going to be a new adventure. (*^^*)

Well, that's about it! I hope you guys are finding these dioramas a welcome escape from reality! Haha. See you next time!

xoxo,
Jona

Meanwhile...

Ooooh. I'm loving creating scenes with my Sylvanians.

This family loves baked goods. Agatha is making some cookies for the anxious daddy Rupert.

Meanwhile at the bakery, Freya is enjoying a freshly baked cat cookie! Oh, and who is that in the background?

Well it's Agatha, of course! And it looks like she bought some more baked goods?!

Eleanor says thank you to her most-loyal customer.

Hmm... Those bread look great! Let's take a peek inside the bakery!

It looks so enticing...

Look! Someone else is inside.

Oh it's Saffron! What a cute, yellow dress! What could she be buying?

I see a croissant and a bread cone... Hmm.... Delicious!

 What a lovely little bakery! Next time, I'll have to bring some money.

Now where could the children be?

Well... Not in the kitchen, now we know.

Ah, looks like Freddie is with Dad talking about today's events.

And Maria is reading a new book. (AGAIN?! She just LOVES reading!)

I wonder when Mum will get home. I'm sure the family would be happy to eat some pastry from the Brick Oven Bakery. (*^^*)

We're Just Taller Children - My New Collection!

Hello everyone! How are you all? Today, I'd like to tell you a little about the new collection I'm starting.

I've always loved crafting and miniatures have been one of my fascinations. As a young girl, I had shoebox dollhouses but never really the real thing. Now that I'm an adult (sort of) and I can afford it, I've finally decided to give in and get myself a dollhouse!

I opted for the Sylvanian Families line. I've always seen those cute little critters at toy stores and would always spend a good few minutes admiring them. So I got myself the Beechwood Hall and the BuckleyRed Deer Family as my first pieces.

I originally intended to DIY everything that goes in the house but I just can't wait to fill it up! ; 3 ;

I did, in fact, do a bit of a diy before I received my package.

These are soooo cute! Patterns were from a Japanese website right here.

I had to saw wood. It was hard because it was so tiny! In the end, I didn't really use this sofa. It's too pink for me.

The bread and teacup are from Gachapon by the same company making the Sylvanian Families line. I've purchased them before not knowing about this fact!

When my package arrived, I soon began the process of wallpapering the rooms! Here's a before and after.

Before: Plain cream rooms. Mama Deer is baking some cookies.

After: Wallpapered and beautiful!

Here's a more detailed look:

And like I was saying, I couldn't help myself but buy furniture.... It's just so hard to resist! So here's a furnished home:

Here's Mommy Agatha, enjoying an afternoon cup of tea in the kitchen.

Freddie is just playing with his train in the yard.

Maria is doing a bit of light reading in the bedroom.

And Daddy Rupert... Please don't disturb him right now.

And here's a pic of the unfinished living room. This room I plan to DIY all by myself.

So a couple of days passed by and I decided they need neighbors, or AT LEAST a shop. It wouldn't be a town without some other people living in it, would it? And here is the result:

I got myself the friggin' cute bakery set! Hehehehe.

And this shop, is the cutest thing ever!!! I can reuse a lot of the gachapon bread I got from Epoch here. I'm so glad!

I can imagine that this collection will grow bigger... I'm worried about storage. Haha.

See you guys again another time!

xoxo,
Jona

P.S.
Sorry about the low quality pics. They were all taken on my phone!
