Year End Post

You know him. No? No worries. You will.

Alas! The year is over... Well, soon to be over. Two days left of 2014. This post will not really be about a review of my year, in case that's what you are expecting. In fact, as I'm typing away, I have no concrete idea of what I will be talking about. I just feel like writing my thoughts now, yes... I'm typing as I think.

So I will first talk about the thing that has been preoccupying my mind at the moment. Benedict Cumberbatch. Hahaha.

Crab Nebula in his eyes. How can you not fall in looooooove?!

A few months back, I was all about Norman Reedus. I still love him, but The Walking Dead is in mid-season break and I recently watched all the Sherlock episodes available for viewing.

At first, I didn't really give a damn (sorry, curse word) about Sherlock because Robert Downey, Jr., I was convinced, was THE Sherlock. But I gave it a try... First episode later, I was sucked in and fell in love with Cumberbatch. Ah! And he's not even that attractive. (jk he is super hot, in my eyes at least)

This is him being particularly creepy. Ugh. Gotta love this guy. :D

So there, another TV show I'd be waiting MONTHS for for another season. :( So far, I've got the Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead and Sherlock. God forbid I start watching another series (Oops, I just remembered I started watching Elementary too--it's another utilization of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's novels). I will be infinitely sedentary. :(

Like a lot of my friends and students know, I love movies. I love, love, love movies. I watch whenever I can. Only this year did I start watching TV dramas. And I'm doomed. :|

************************

On another note, it's still quite possible I'd be moving to Japan the coming year. I'm still praying for that every night. This is a change necessary in my life and I badly, badly want it. I'd be getting my license from the PRC office as soon as the holidays are over and push through with VISA application. I'm really hoping this will happen! :)

I have also decided that my brain needs a workout (my body does too, hahaha). I intend to do more enriching activities next year. I started reading about forensic science recently. Most likely because of my obsession with the whole Sherlock thing. But it is quite a fascinating area, actually. Making a career out of it wouldn't have been such a bad thing (considering I have a nursing background).

Anyhow, I'm about to start my next class. Break is over. So... We'll end it here. See you again next time! :)

P.S.
There are lots of things to look forward to in 2015. I will surely embark in a great adventure and I can not wait!

Corset

Image from imagearcade.com

Hello you guys! Surprise post. Haha. :D

I've recently been on to something. So here I am!

Ar you guys familiar with corsets? They began becoming popular in 16th century Europe and saw it's Golden Age in the Victorian era (I'm very interested in the Victorian era fashion). Most people don't use corsets anymore, of course. But during that time, men and women used it to "shape" their bodies. To this day, the corset still exists, not as popular, but it still is around! :D

Ever wondered how they were voluptuous and have a small waist at the same time? Yep. Corsets.
(Images from hubpages and carbonatedtv.com)

Besides shaping the body, the corset is known to help with posture. I have terrible posture and usually sit with a slouch. And this is the reason why I decided to buy one. On top of that, I get a really good silhouette under my clothes, right? :'D

It is my first ever corset so even though I watched hours of YouTube videos and read extensively about corsets online, I know there would be some bumps on the road.

I'm expecting my new steel-boned  corset to arrive today or tomorrow so look forward to a new post soon. I'll give you more details!

I thought I'd share this experience with you guys. Let me know if you guys are interested in corsets too!

She looks mighty fabulous!

Liz Lisa Fukubukuro 2015 (Liz Lisa 福袋2015)

Image taken from the official Liz Lisa FB page.

It's that time of the year!

Yesterday, Liz Lisa announced pre-orders for the 2015 fukubukuro or lucky bag. Is it just me or are trunks getting more and more expensive each year? :'D

The 2015 bags are pretty but I prefer the 2014 ones. On top of the regular trunk, they also have a mini-trunk this year. It's SUPER cute but I don't know if it will be of any use to me. >///<

It's likely that I will go to Japan next year (crossing my fingers and praying hard!) but it's a shame it won't be on time for me to get fukubukuros. Next year, maybe! :P

I'm actually thinking of getting JugeETTA this year instead. I don't know.

Sad thing is, unlike last year, we don't get to see "actual" items in the announcement. They tell us what each bag may contain (like, they will say it will have a one piece inside and this and that) but no pictures. :(

Last year, I was eager to buy because I know I'd like the contents! >///<

Here is a low-res image of some of the options this year!

The mini-trunk is so cute!
If you notice, a My Melody trunk will also be available! :D

I'm actually more interested in the web-limited fukubukuro though. It's slightly more expensive but... I like it simpler like this.

But maybe I'll just get JugeETTA this year. Their trunk looks similar to the Liz Lisa web-limited one but it's in "lavender" color. Last year's color is better too, imo. :<

Soooo which ones are you guys wanting to get?:)

✰✰ Lights ✰✰

I recently went out with my friends and visited the Ayala Triangle. It's an annual tradition to have a "Lights Show" there at the end of the year in celebration of the holiday season. 。゚✶ฺ.ヽ(*´∀`*)ノ.✶゚ฺ。

My Japanese students would refer to this as "illumination". Yeah. Fancy word. Haha.

I took a few pictures to show you!ヾ(´∀`○)ノ

Gets you in a festive mood, doesn't it? ✰

Beautiful!

A wintry color. I like this the best!

But this is also pretty, right?

Quite a sight, really! The only downside was that it was so hot. There were so many lights that the place was essentially an oven. :'D

This was the second time I went here. The first time was around two years ago, with my cousin Lai. :)

Maybe it will be quite a while before I get to do this again. Kind of a sad thought, but it's also a good thing (because this means, I'll be going to Japan! I'm praying hard!).

See you next time! ♡〜٩( ╹▿╹ )۶〜♡

xoxo,
Jona

Just Random Ramblings (Again!)

Hey.

First let me explain why I haven't been posting as much as I used to.

Yeah, I go out with my friends quite a lot, actually, but I don't really snap lots of pictures anymore. And blogs are quite boring without pictures, aren't they?

I read somewhere that sometimes, we try so hard to capture everything in a picture, to immortalize moments, that we "miss it" completely. Sure, you have that pretty picture to look at several years from now, but you would barely have any memory about that exact moment. And that, for me, is sad.

I don't have a very good memory, honestly. And I want to be able to remember every bit of memory that I can. The good, the bad and the ugly. Oh wait. That's a Parachute song. :') (listen to the song HERE)

Going back to the topic. On top of "not taking so much pictures anymore", I doubt a lot of people are really interested in what my personal life is like, anyway. :P I have a very "typical" life. Not that grand, not that exciting.

My blog, originally, was meant to be an online diary for me where I can post all of my thoughts and feelings. But that proved to be quite difficult to realize. Ack!

Nonetheless, I do have some readers (most of which are my students, by the way) who often ask me to post something here. So here I am, still posting updates every now and then. Maybe one of these days, I'll post about some really interesting stuff.

Well, what else? Ok, I'll give you a rundown on some of the stuff I did last week. :'D

> I mostly went to work.
> I went to my university to get some documents (for the VISA thing which I'm hoping so, so badly that I will get!)
> On Friday, I went to meet a friend and we ate dinner and watched Interstellar together

Yep. Pretty generic. :) Again, hopefully there's some exciting stuff brewing for me in the near future. :P

Xoxo,
Jona

Oh! And how can I leave you with just a wall of text? That's illegal! :')

This is Bart Simpson from The Simpsons. <--Yeah I linked you to Wikipedia. :'D

Passed!

Short update. Just wanna share my happiness to you all!

Some four years ago, I passed the licensure exam to become a nurse. Today, a couple of friends broke the news to me while I was watching Buzzfeed videos on Youtube. Haha. It's official. I'm now a licensed teacher. :)

51 working days after I took the exam, a lot longer than what they usually take (which is less than 40 days), the results have finally been released!

I had been more and more anxious as the days passed. I worry a bit (we don't wanna worry so much now, do we?) about my future now... After all, I've just turned 25. ; 3 ;

This is a life-changing event for me. A lot of things that will come in my future depended on whether I passed or not. There is still one more hurdle to jump but I've prayed and prayed that this is what is meant for me and I believe I can make it!

I'm sorry for being so vague right now! I will tell you all what this is all about when I have a 100% confirmation (but I already claim it WILL happen REALLY SOON).

And when I get to that point, I promise you I will blog more.

Let's still keep in touch, ok? :P

xoxo,
Jona

Oh, and just this once, I'll let you see how I look like when I'm just at home. HAHA. I'm that happy!

This is from my webcam.XD

25

Hello there. I'm sorry for the long absence. This seems to be the way I start my blog posts recently... Haha. But to tell you guys the truth, I haven't really found the time to be writing about every day life.

I just turned 25 years old. Wow. That should be about half my lifetime already (hoping it's 1/3 or 1/4 of course).

This year, I didn't spend my birthday on a trip. It's a bit strange because the last three years, I've always been "somewhere." But this is a welcome change.

I miss my family.

Yes, I spend every single day of my life with them but I realized I never really appreciated that.

I spent my birthday with the people closest to my heart and that's just great and refreshing. :)

Anyway, curious what I did?!

On my big day, I went for a full leg wax for no reason...XD I had two technicians work on me. Omg. Am I that hairy? lol No (I hope not!), but I realized one of them seemed to be a trainee. And being the good person that I am, I didn't say anything nor complain. :P

I also tried my best to get myself a copy of the Sims 4, to no avail. I have played the Sims since the first release and I just absolutely love the game!

I will hopefully be playing that soon! :P

The highlight, however, is the day after when I finally got a new laptop after MONTHS of not having one. I had to share the desktop with my brother who hogs it all the time... So I was really happy to finally get a new one!

Take a look!

Anyway. I hope to catch up with you guys another time! (I really hope I find more time to blog).

Take care! :)

xoxo,
Jona

A Bundle of Joy!

Hi! I'll start off this post again with an apology for the lack of updates. I've been quite... busy... I think! Good things are about to unfold though, so I think I will have a lot more to blog about in the coming months. :)

We will start off with this one...

A couple of days ago, HE happened!

Baby Kristofer Llyr!

After months of being in my cousin's belly, I finally got to meet my new nephew! :) He is so precious. ; 3 ;

Took a while before he finally opened his eyes for me. XD He is a little milk monster!

Babies are miracles. Really, they are. I hope to spend more time with baby Llyr though... Kyle (Lai's husband), please don't take them away too soon!!! ; 3 ;

July Update

Hello! I think I'm obliged to at least post something once a month, so here I am posting my random thoughts. Haha. :P

If you've read my previous post, you know that I have moved to a new house. I'd like to share some pics when I've cleaned up a bit. :P

The rainy season is here again! This year, I haven't had a glimpse of the beach. :( I would really, really, really love to go to the beach...

The Sims 4 will also be released this year. I can't wait to play! But first, I need to buy myself a new computer. My laptop died some months ago and I've been computer-less for a while, actually... I know, I know... How pitiful. TT_TT I do need to save up for a decent desktop though... or maybe I do need a laptop instead because there might be an opportunity to go elsewhere later this year... I wonder which one is better to get?

On to another topic, my cousin Lai is pregnant with a baby boy! :) I don't think I can spend a lot of time with the baby because she will soon be moving to the United States to be with her husband. :( So, it's kinda sad like that. But I'm still very happy for her! ^^ If you wanna read more about her pregnancy, you can always visit her blog here.

Also, another installment of the Vampire Chronicles will be released this year! Whoa. 2014 is exciting! Hehe. Anne Rice finally decided to write about Lestat again. Ah... If Lestat was real, I wonder if I would actually want to meet him. He'd probably be scary and beautiful at the same time. Ooh.

Related to vampires, I've recently actually been reading about real-life people who believe they are vampires. I read weird stuff like that all the time. Haha! It's quite fascinating though! There is in fact a disease called Renfield’s syndrome. It's clinical vampirism. Some people I've read about has this disease but some of them claim that their being a vampire is not a disease but a mutation of some sort. It's just so fascinating!

Anyway, I don't reckon you're interested in that. Or are you? If you are, let's talk about it. ; 3 ; There isn't anyone around me who I can talk with about weird stuff like this. lol

Also, since this turned out to be a wall of text, I'll leave you with a picture of my ever so zippy Mordecai!

That's him being diffident. lol

We're Moving!

I've moved more than several times in my lifetime--let me count, 4 times. This move will be the 5th! It's always been the same city though... but not this time. In fact, the place I'm moving at, is not even a city at all. Haha. It's not like it's totally trees and fields though. I don't think there are still fields there. :P

Anyway, I'm actually looking forward to moving! It's always great to start fresh. Yes, yes, it's troublesome... but it's also exciting. Don't you think? The prospect of having a brand new life--new people to meet, new place, new everything! That's great to me. :) I hate it when life becomes so monotonous. So changes are always welcome to me. :)

It will still be a few days before the move but before that, all must be prepared right? This Friday, I'll go there with my mom and brother to paint a little and make a few adjustments. ;)

I've always shared my room with a family member but this time I can have my own! Yay. How exciting is that?! In fact, I've already semi-chosen (not really, you know how indecisive I am. Hahaha) the palette for my room-to-be.

How do you like the following color schemes?

From idulgy.com
From sabpa.com

Which one do you like best? :P Any other color scheme suggestions?

I'm thinking to pair "blue" with a another color or two. I doubt my room will look at lovely as the ones above but colors should make it pretty! OMG. Can't wait to decorate. ; 3 ;

Jona

Thailand 2014 - Asiatique

WARNING: Picture dump!

Hello! Finally on to the next post about Thailand. So sorry for the *cough* delay! :D

Today's post is about Asiatique. :) I think this is a pretty new place in Bangkok. One of our students recommended that we go here. I also wanted to go here because of the ice cream mochi. I have never had Yukimi Daifuku and I really want to try it... So this will do for now! It's a similar thing. Hehe. (*^^*)

From the Grand Palace, we rode a Tuktuk to go to a ferry/boat terminal. :) We were dropped off here:

Smelled fishy, of course! :D

You can obviously tell this is a tourist place. :P Remember to "BEWARE HEAD!"  I wonder if there's a dangerous head here somewhere!!! And what is it a head of? :O

There are actually a lot of locals and tourists using this service~!

A view while on the ride. :)

We got off the last "port" and Asiatique was a few minutes walk away. We got a little lost though so it took longer than it should. :P

Alley cat.

And here we are!!! :D When we arrived there, 90% of the shops were closed. It was about 3pm. ; 3 ;
So, DO NOT go there so early. 5pm is a good time!

We were so, so hungry as we haven't had lunch. We went around and looked at the shops that were already open. We ended up at MK. Apparently, it's a popular restaurant chain in Thailand! :)

Yum. :)

Ooooh.

I looooove dumplings!

Oh my... I'm getting hungry. :(

Service was quick. Food was great! And the price is not too much at all. :)
VERDICT: Will come back!

They also give you a reminder of how much fatter you got after you ate there. HAHAHA.

Since there was nothing else to do, we took some shots. ^^

My, elephants can be really so heavy!

Lai looking around. You can see a lot of the shops are still closed!

What to bring home as omiyage?

And we found it! :)

Kanemochi is a play on word, for those of you readers who are neither my students nor speak Japanese. Kanemochi means "rich." :)

Mochi on a stick! How adorable! The shop staff also posed with us. :P I wanna eat one of these now! :(

There was a puppeteer/street performer at the center of Asiatique. I enjoyed many minutes watching him!

This adorable little girl was a great fan.

I saw her getting nearer...

And nearer! :D So cute! (*^^*)

We didn't do much after. ; 3 ; But for some shopping and food, Asiatique seems like a good place to visit! They also have a Ferris wheel/ observation wheel if you are interested! :)

See you another time!

xoxo,
Jona
