I want a baby Holland Lop!!!

So recently, I got myself a Lionhead bunny. He has blue eyes, black ears and a white body with some specks of black. He is so beautiful! I call him Pepper. While he is all fuzzy and cute, he can be quite a meanie. I don't know whether it is his personality or the breeder I got him from was just a really bad one. I don't think he is used to handling. At. All. When I got him, his nails were so long! It still is, by the way, as I'm unsuccessful trying to pick him up for clippings. He has given me lots of scratches and some bruises from his bite.  To those smart-asses who will try to give me an advise about trying to win its trust over first, you better f off! I DO MY READING unlike other irresponsible pet owners out there.

I have been trying my best for him! I would give him treats every day and he would even eat off my hand. I have even managed to semi-litter-train him. By that, I mean, he would do most of his peeing and pooping in his tray, with some pellets out of the box, but never on my bedroom floor. Yes. Pepper stays in my room even. >_<

Now, so if I am really trying my best for him and all that, you ask, why do I want a Holland Lop then? Will I be ignoring him after I get my self a new bunny? Well the answer is, of course not!

My boyfriend told me that bunnies can learn from other bunnies. So, if I get a lop (which will hopefully be easier to handle since I want to get one that is less than 2 months old... Pepper is 5 months old when I got him), Pepper will realize it gets so much more treats than he will because it is behaving better. Get it? So I think this is not a bad idea.

I feel really sad about Pep because the reward of being a pet owner is actually their pets showing affection or fondness towards them. Pepper barely shows that. I wanna cuddle with him sometimes but I can't because he doesn't even sit on my lap. TT_TT

To tell you guys the truth, my boyfriend recently got a lop too. And the cute little thing has already been giving him "bunny love licks" a few days after he adopted her. I was so envious............

Bah. Anyway, here are some pics of Pepper for now! Hopefully next time, I'll have a happy post about a new lop and a Pepper with a better attitude. ><

End-of-the-year Bonding

EDITED: Dec 16, 2012

I can't believe I'm talking about this now... We have 16 days left before this year ends! This is a total cliche but really, this year flew by quite fast! Anyway, I'm not here today to talk about anything sentimental. Haha. But before we begin, I must ask for your forgiveness for the lack of photos in this entry. I brought my camera with me... Only the battery was empty. *facepalm* Most pictures are grabbed from friends. Sorry! I will *try* not to make the same mistake again. In fact, I'm currently charging my camera battery now. Hahaha. :P

I had to wake up extra early today because we had to perform in a "Reader's Theater  today for one of my Uni classes.

I was a mongoose in the presentation. Why I have bunny ears, I have no idea. Haha.
(Picture from Mela Valdez)

My group performed Furs and Feathers quite well with only about 30-minutes or so of practice. Haha. Anyway, after this, the entire class went to Market! Market! for a get-together/Christmas party/End-of-the-year-party. I don't think I would want to eat at Shakey's again... ; 3 ; They set some glasses on our table and it's not difficult to tell that the glasses were dirty... Probably not even washed! They give it to you with a little water and some particles in it... Totally unhygienic  I asked our glasses to be replaced, only to be given the same glasses, but now without the water in it. Later on, my classmate asked yet again to have our glasses replaced, only to be given "other" dirty glasses. One plate with "crumbs" was even laid out at our table. YUCK! Nonetheless, I had to stay and eat there because the entire class is. >_>

Check out the very bad, but nevertheless very revealing photo I took with my phone. >_<

Nevertheless, we SMILE! Here I am flashing an ultra-big grin with kitty ears on. XDD

The gang chowing on pizza and pasta... Hopefully they are not contaminated. Lol

I just had to take a pic of this! Ain't it pretty? *_*

After the big group broke up, we were left with our original classmates, and some long-time friends; one of which we haven't seen for a while!

In this part, I will have to be extra descriptive because most photos have not yet been uploaded by classmates. :P I will add them later on, PROMISE! just because!!! XD

We all decided to go to Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf for a chat. This unexpectedly turned out to be a balut-eating-challenge (at least it was for me!). For those of you who are not familiar as to what balut is, it is basically a duck egg... Only you eat it when the duckling is almost about to see the world. Hahahaha. Google it if you dare, but be warned! It's a little gross.

The cake was supposed to be "guilt-free..." I hope it is because it was so sweet and just yummy. ; 3 ;

Playing with the eggs. LOL Yeah we are kids like that. :P

Okay back to safe zone. :P

I have not eaten a balut since when I was four. I enjoyed balut a lot before, it actually tastes good! But there was one time in my childhood that I got an egg where the duckling already had a beak... That is just too grotesque for anyone, let alone a four-year-old girl. After that, I never ate balut again... Until today.

This my disgusted face trying to eat the "chick" with a fork... ; 3 ;
(Pic from Mela Valdez)

Melai, Mark and I shared one egg... But they ate the good parts and left me with the "bato" the hard, not-so-yummy-part and the duckling. After much encouragement and teasing from the group, I had to eat it. So I did. I rarely pass up a challenge. The duckling wasn't so big yet, anyway. There's PROBABLY no beak yet. >_> To tell you the truth, though I had almost gagged because of the thought of the baby duck, the taste was not bad! Truly, it's just mind over matter. I won't be eating balut again anytime soon though. HAHA! I would give you a lame excuse and say, "These baby ducks need to live!" And you just have to respect me for that. Hahahaha.

After the balut-challenge and ate Ella giving out Garnier samples for free, we went outside the cafe to play some good ol' party games. We played the classic charades and the game we call "Pinoy Henyo," a game similar to 20 Questions. Learn more about it here. Yes. I linked you to Wikipedia. Hahahaha.

We ended the day trying to get each other wet at the fountains in High Street. It's so beautiful there. The fountains are illuminated with changing colors. Just lovely! Not long after though, we had to say our goodbyes and see-you-next-years as everyone was tired. ; 3 ; And so, we ended the day with a prayer.

Our group is very fun and spontaneous and lively. Most of us still have the child in us. I just love these guys. How I wish we can still continue to hang out long after this program ends. REALLY. I would WANT that. I really believe in what ate Queenie said, that we all met for a reason. I hope that our relationships will continue to grow long after we part ways. <3 I love you guys! :P

P.S. I want the group pics, Kuya Bernard. I will still have to edit this. :P

Banapple @ Market! Market!

So the new semester has started and I will, once again be extra busy. It's one of my excuses why I post so rarely recently. Haha. ALSO, life has been unkind to me recently, but I can't share much info. ; 3 ; But believe me, I'm trying my best to keep up... not really. :P

Anyway, last Saturday, I went to Banapple with some University classmates. The food was really good and worth the money! I love the cakes as well. But I suggest you share one slice with another person. Hehe. I love cakes. I'm IN LOVE with cheesecakes but I just can't finish one slice... Maybe it's because I was so full with the big serving I got for the main meal? Maybe. :P

Banapple
I love the background. No, not the blender but the cute cheery trees right there. :P

More cam-whoring with the gang. Can you still see me? :D

Banapple
The shop is currently very popular. We had to wait (for a short time) to be seated. No doubt because they serve very good food!

Here's the menu for those of you who would like a pic. Drag in a different window to view full-size. ;)
Sorry about the crop! At least you get the idea, right?!

Some of the cakes. They would be about 95-110 PHP per slice. <3

And before the food, here is some appetizer: Another picture of the gang! XD

Kuya Bernard's choice: Baked Fish ???? with Scalloped Potatoes
I had a taste as well. It has a mild, creamy taste and the fish is just bless! <3

3 of us chose this. Hickory Smoked Barbecued Country Ribs.
The serving was hefty! This is enough for two people, I think. Order an extra rice for Php40. To me, there's a little too much sauce. ; 3 ; But I still loved it! <3

Fetuccine Jacinta. 3 of us chose this. I had a taste, of course! Very creamy. I loved this one too. <3

Banapple is originally famous for their cakes. So, of course, we HAVE TO try them as well.! Are you ready for the goodness? I absolutely loved all of them. But I'll let you in on my favorites as well. But please forgive me because I did not make any effort to memorize their "names." Hahaha. Sorry!!!

This has white chocolates and berry. It's pink, very cute and yummy. It has a mild, berry-taste. If you are not keen about too-sweet-cakes, this is perfect. And oh, this is a cheesecake.

This is not a cheesecake. The flavor is mocha/coffee. I really liked the icing/cream of this as I am in love with coffee. Haha.<3

This is called Santa's Chipper something.xD It's a cheesecake topped with vanilla icing and chocolate chips! I loved this one. <3

All chocolatey with bananas! Definitely for the sweet-tooth! And probably my fave of the lot!

All in all, it's a fulFILLING experience. Literally. Take a look at the plates after we go for it!

We obviously enjoyed the food... I'm coming back for more next time. I want to try some of their pastas. But remember that they are famous for their cakes so you have to try them too. :P I was soooooooooo full after this dinner. ; 3 ;

Anyway, see you again next time! xoxo

Cartimar - Pet time!

Cartimar is famous and notorious for pet lovers in Manila. Here, you can find lots of different pet shops in one place! Surely, shopping for you little furball couldn't be easier. But, sadly, Cartimar is also home to poorly taken-cared of animals for sale.

This is the same place where I got my hamster, Coffee. I know many people will say it was a bad idea for me to buy Coffee off a petshop... People will say that buy supporting this kind of business, I would encourage breeding this animals and yada yada yada... But truth be told, there is nowhere in the Philippines I can "adopt" such pets.  >_> Anyway, this is not the point of this post! I really just want to show you a glimpse of Cartimar. Haha.

I think I will be going here tomorrow as well because I'm thinking of getting a bunny, so there might be a follow-up post after this. (*^^*)

For now, some furry pictures!

Kitty
I have no idea what breed cat this is but she is adorable!!! <3

Cartimar
Blurry!!! This one was a really fat cat.

Cartimar
I'm sorry! It's blurred!!! This puppy was really posing. Haha.

Cartimar
Lots of carp! My nephew asked me to take a photo of it.

Cartimar
This is my nephew posing with poorly-housed mice and hamsters. :P

Cartimar
There is also a section in Cartimar entirely dedicated for sea and fresh-water animals. ; 3 ;

Tomorrow, I will go back here so I think I will have more pictures to share! See you!

Some Updates

Two weeks of no updates! Did you miss me?! Haha. I've been extremely busy (I'd like to think that) and I've been in an emotional roller-coaster recently. With the new semester starting this week, work, and my out-of-hand life, I surely have a lot in my hands. But, no, it's not true that I've been like super-duper-no-time-to-even-write-a-blog-post-busy recently. It's just that, I've been extra lazy. And for my honesty, you should forgive me. ; 3 ;

To make up for everything, here are some pics!!! <3

I've recently rekindled my love for paper folding. Haha. Here are some butterfly models I folded. :P Do you guys still do origami? A lot of my students say this is for kids!!! But I beg to differ!

butterfly origami
Super cute!

The first week of November was also enrollment week for me. On enrollment day (aka paying the school to imprison me on Saturdays), my friend Melai and I had lunch at the newly opened restaurant/fastfood at Market! Market! It's called Moshi Koshi.
enrollment scene
Everyone is busy (or confused).

Moshi Koshi at Market! Market!

moshi koshi ramen
I got myself a bowl of Shoyu Ramen. The sheet of paper under my bowl recommends I eat all within 5 minutes!!! Of course, I can't!!!! XD
All smiles (and shine)!
The mall has already decorated for Christmas!
Last week, I finally got around to watching the new 3D-animated movie, "Wreck-it Ralph." I really really liked this movie! Vanellope is so darling! Haha. Although it won't go down on my list of favorites, it's definitely worth watching! Now, I'm also curious about the upcoming Christmas, 3D-animated movie called "Jack Frost." This movie is from the makers of one of my favorite animations so far, "How to Train Your Dragon" so I'm really looking forward to seeing how this one fares!

I went to see Wreck-it Ralph with Kath. It has an interesting plot---a game villain wanting to be a hero. The game villains having an anonymous "Bad Guy" forum is wittingly comical.

Fondue before the movies!
I got my self a fruit mix. Kath got pancakes.
Everything tastes better with chocolate. Hmm. I AGREE!

Kath and her funny face! Haha. We were at ACE Hardware, checking out our weight. XD
Here! MY funny face! Now it's fair!!!! XD

It's always fun hanging out with Kath. <3 She takes my worries away. ; 3 ;

And so, this is it!!! More pics next time! Thanks! <3
